Meet Walsh. Kimberly Walsh: Associate (@aliasgrace) #bookmadam
KIMBERLY WALSH (@aliasgrace) is a blogger and online content producer and social media manager for the CBC in literary programming. She lives in a house in Halifax with a man and a dachshund, one of whom is named Tofu. Oh, and she writes.
Kimberly's inaugural pick for social media bright idea: (un) Death-Match
(un) Death-Match is the ghoulish brainchild of digital marketers Deanna McFadden (HarperCollins Canada) and Dan Wagstaff (Raincoast Books). The premise? Pitch two of their supernatural fiction books (The Strain vs. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies) against each other in a battle of blogging wits and trash-talking to see who comes out on top.
Turns out that means everybody. Since the initial conception, the site has grown to include other publishers and contributing bloggers.
(Full disclosure: They even let me join the party for a couple of rounds and may or may not have regretted the decision.)
[Julie adds: If you want to join the fun, (un) Death-Match is accepting contributors until the end of March. From the site: Werewolves have been undefeated for two rounds. From now until the end of March, we're looking for your pitches for the next creature(s) to go head-to-head in (un) Death-Match round 4. E-mail Deanna or Kimberly with your ideas (deanna [dot] mcfadden [at] harpercollins [dot] com or kimberly.aliasgrace [at] gmail [dot] com) with your ideas for defending your supernatural being of choice.]
